What is the role?

Applications are invited from suitably qualified applicants wishing to be considered for the role of Band 4 Finance Officer – Accounts and Client Services (ACS).

ACS forms part of Shared Services within the Business Services Branch and is responsible for Debt Management, Treasury and Accounts Payable and Receivable functions to the broader AFP.

The ACS team is looking for skilled members to join the Account Payable and Accounts Receivable teams.

Work as part of a small team providing accurate Accounts Payable and Receivable services.
Contribute to the achievement of outcomes in accordance with the regulatory framework, the AFP Code of Conduct and AFP Governance Instruments.
Demonstrate a willingness and ability to learn, take ownership of their role and responsibility for their work.
What will you do?

Duties performed in the Team Member role may include but is not restricted to:

Accurately process customer invoices
Accurately match payments to customer accounts and reconcile relevant GL accounts
Review outstanding invoices and commence the customer debt recovery process
Provide technical help, support and advice relating to account receivable activities to stakeholders
Provide accurate accounts payable services
Process a high volume of vendor invoices
Quality assure goods receipts/confirmations
Provide advice relating to accounts payable activities
Display excellent customer service skills whilst communication with stakeholders via phone and email
Essential Requirements
Demonstrated experience in accounts payable and accounts receivable processing
High level customer service and communication skills
Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
Willingness and ability to learn and adapt to changing systems and processes
The ability to work effectively in a team
Well-developed organisational skills, and demonstrated capability to manage competing priorities
Australian Citizen
NV1 Security Clearance (or ability to obtain one)
Desirable Requirements
Experience using SAP accounts processing
SAP payroll experience highly desirable
Prior experience within Federal/State/Local Government will be viewed favourably.
Additional Information
This role is located in Canberra, and applicants are expected to be based in Canberra or relocate at own expense
This role is at an AFP Band 4 level
