Finance Officer is responsible for managing daily financial transactions, ensuring accurate bookkeeping, and maintaining robust financial management systems. In the Philippine corporate environment, this role is critical for ensuring full compliance with national statutory bodies, balancing company budgets, managing cash flow, and providing management with the data-driven reports needed to make sound corporate governance decisions.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain and reconcile general ledgers, accounts payable (AP), and accounts receivable (AR).
  • Perform regular bank reconciliations and manage daily cash flow projections to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Oversee corporate disbursements, ensure valid check requisitions, and process localized vendor payments and company payroll.
  • Monitor budget performance and implement internal expenditure control measures to flag variances early.
  • Prepare, file, and remit monthly, quarterly, and annual tax returns to the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR), including expanded withholding taxes (EWT), VAT, and corporate income tax.
  • Handle monthly remittances and compliance with Philippine government agencies including SSS, PhilHealth, and Pag-IBIG.
  • Assist in securing local government requirements, such as the annual renewal of the Business Permit (Barangay Clearance, Mayor's Permit) and occupational clearances.
  • Maintain accurate statutory formats for books of accounts as mandated by Philippine accounting laws.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) in accordance with Philippine Financial Reporting Standards (PFRS).
  • Compile and organize clear financial records, transaction data, and schedules for internal and external auditors.
  • Coordinate closely with operational teams and branch offices to ensure consistent financial documentation across all business units.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor of Science in Accountancy (BSA), Finance, or Banking and Finance.
  • Certification of Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license is highly required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in general accounting, treasury, tax compliance, or corporate finance.
  • Strong proficiency in advanced MS Excel and localized enterprise financial systems (e.g., SAP, NetSuite, Oracle, Xero).
  • Deep understanding of BIR tax rules, PFRS guidelines, and Philippine labor/remittance laws.Core Competencies
  • Exceptional capability to spot invoicing discrepancies and balancing errors before they hit corporate ledgers.
  • Ability to evaluate cost-benefit ratios, ROI on business investments, and identify financial risks.
  • Strong verbal and written English communication skills; comfortable presenting data to management and building collaborative relationships with local banking institutions.
  • Upright ethical and moral judgment, with an unblemished background in handling confidential company assets and financial records.
