How You Succeed

You will succeed by being detail-oriented and proactive. Successfully navigating this role means understanding the intricacies of equity trading and partnering closely with the Front Office. Prioritise accuracy and timeliness in your work, mastering the reconciliation process and escalating issues promptly. Build strong working relationships and embrace continuous improvement to optimise our processes.

What You Do

Financial Reporting & Month-End Closing

  • Support and manage the month-end close activities by performing timely reconciliations and working closely with relevant departments to validate financial data and ensure completeness and accuracy of month-end financial information.

  • Prepare monthly financial statements and regulatory reporting for submission to Head Office.

  • Produce periodic regulatory reports and forms for submission to authorities through Group Finance.

  • Prepare balance sheet schedules and reconciliation reports to ensure accuracy and completeness.

Reconciliations & Ledger Management

  • Perform reconciliation and investigation of discrepancies between the company’s general ledger, bank statements, and product systems.

  • Identify, investigate, and resolve differences between internal records and bank statements promptly.

  • Ensure accurate and timely posting of financial entries related to bank transactions and trade settlements.

  • Execute brokerage adjustments, goodwill, marketing rebates, and other financial entries required for client trust accounts (e.g., NOVACas).

  • Ensure customers’ segregated funds and trust reporting are completed promptly.

Invoicing & Transaction Processing

  • Ensure timely generation and distribution of invoices to clients and stakeholders.

  • Review and approve journal entries, adjustments, and other transaction postings as needed.

  • Perform processing and adjustments in the general ledger and product systems.

Compliance, Audit & Controls

  • Liaise with internal and external auditors to ensure compliance with operational procedures and regulatory requirements.

  • Maintain compliance with financial regulations, internal policies, and bank reconciliation standards.

  • Ensure Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are regularly updated and adhered to.

  • Develop and implement improved reconciliation procedures and controls to enhance accuracy and reduce operational risks.

Projects, Testing & Process Improvement

  • Participate in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for system enhancements and migration projects.

  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and streamline workflows.

  • Analyse current processes, identify gaps, and recommend improvements to reduce operational risks and improve control effectiveness.

  • Build analytics dashboards for business insights.

  • Use AI tools for forecasting and analysis.

  • Work cross‑functionally with business teams.

  • Support finance digital transformation initiatives.

Who You Are

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.

  • 1-3 years of experience in financial operations, preferably within a financial institution.

  • Strong understanding of financial instruments, particularly equities.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.

  • A meticulous approach to work with high attention to detail.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude.
