Caterpillar Finance Services Division currently has an opportunity for an experienced Finance Specialist to join the Regional Treasury team in Singapore.

Job Summary

The Finance Specialist requires to provide technical finance expertise and guidance on Treasury matters and well-developed recommendations to make business decisions. Activities include, but are not limited to, investments, cash management, subsidiary funding, foreign exchange risk management, business risk management, trade finance, and developing funding structures. This role reports to Regional Treasury Centre Manager and will be working directly with the senior management of the Caterpillar entities in Asia Pacific and senior leaders in Treasury, Tax and legal team. Incumbent will have comprehensive knowledge of Caterpillar’s business and finance policies and practices, systems, processes and procedures. You will apply finance knowledge to activities and will participate in and/or lead multifunctional teams as well as lead projects to conclusion by compiling information, analyzing data, recommending and implementing solutions and will provide information and analysis to make business decisions.

What You Will Do

  • Perform daily Treasury operational work such as cash management, bank account management, funding, forecasting, General Ledger posting and foreign exchange trading.

  • Support Asia Pacific legal entities and business units and to be a trusted adviser to the process partners on Treasury functionalities.

  • Lead / participate in global, regional and local projects.

  • Leverage / deploy Treasury systems and technology to simplify / standardize processes and improve efficiency.

  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, SOX controls and policies as well as relevant country regulations.

  • Handling broader business issues such as delivering presentations to business unit and corporate leadership teams, working with cross-functional disciplines to solve business problems and using business acumen to support a broad range of activities.

  • Demonstrates strong communication skills and has a comprehensive knowledge of the legal entities and business units.

  • Moderate business travel required - approximately 5%-15%

What You Have

  • A university degree in finance, business administration or accounting is required.

  • Requires knowledge of Corporate Treasury policies, practices and systems.

  • Requires Treasury experience with multinational companies or with regional treasury centers.

  • Demonstrates initiative, leadership, judgment and decision-making skills.

  • Have the ability to work effectively and independently with people at all levels within and outside the department.

  • Solid project management skills and excellent team leadership, human interaction, and communications skills are necessary.

  • Knowledge of other business functions and analytical skills are desirable.

  • Have the ability to learn and adapt quickly to a variety of work environments and circumstances.

    • Evaluates financial statements and ensures regulatory compliance.
