Financial Accountant

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Financial Accountant to join our finance team in Manila. The ideal candidate will take ownership of daily bank reconciliations, while also providing key support for month-end close processes, year-end audits, and various ad hoc financial tasks. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to meet tight deadlines.

As a Financial Accountant at Smartly, you will...

• Perform daily bank reconciliations across multiple accounts and entities, ensuring accuracy and completeness of data.
• Investigate and resolve any reconciling items in a timely manner.
• Take ownership of daily accounts receivable tasks such as enabling a smooth customer onboarding, handling payment applications and discrepancies, generating customer statements and reminders, reconciling overall customer accounts receivables
• Support the month-end close process, including journal entries, accruals, fixed asset capitalisation, and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Assist in the preparation of audit schedules and liaise with external auditors during year-end audits.
• Respond to internal and external ad hoc financial queries and data requests.
• Assist with the implementation and maintenance of financial controls and processes.
• Collaborate with AP/AR teams and other departments to ensure financial data integrity.

• Have a bachelor's degree in Accounting with 3+ years of relevant work experience.
• Have proven experience in a similar finance or accounting role.
• Have strong Excel or Google Sheet skills; experience with NetSuite is an advantage.
• Have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Have a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Have the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Work well as part of a team, while being able to handle tasks independently
