Financial Accountant (German Speaking)

As a Financial Accountant at Basic-Fit, you will play a crucial role in our Finance department, which is undergoing exciting projects and transformations — from process improvements to integrating our latest acquisition. You'll be at the heart of it all!

This Is What Your Role Looks Like

You'll be part of our Financial Control team (18 FTE), a group of quick-thinking financial professionals who produce high-quality reports while closely collaborating with the business. Together with the Financial Controller, you'll ensure accurate financial reporting and contribute to continuous process improvements.

Following our acquisition of Clever Fit and our growing activities across Germany and Austria, you'll contribute to the financial processing of these entities. You'll be based at our HQ in Hoofddorp.

Your Responsibilities

• Financial accuracy: Maintain, process, and report general ledger transactions across multiple international entities, with a focus on DACH.

• Month-end & statutory reporting: Prepare journal entries, accruals, deferrals, reconciliations, and lead schedules for timely and accurate reporting.

• Audit & compliance: Support external audit requirements and ensure compliance with financial regulations.

• Process improvements: Develop and implement efficiencies in financial processes, documenting desktop procedures and workflows.

• Collaboration: Work closely with Reporting & Tax, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Business Control, and other departments.

• Special projects: Assist management with ad-hoc reporting, analysis, and strategic initiatives including Clever Fit integration work.

Who Are You?

You are a detail-oriented and proactive financial professional with a strong analytical mindset. You enjoy solving complex financial puzzles and thrive in a dynamic, international environment.

Additionally, we're looking for someone who is:

• Experienced in financial accounting with 1–2 years in a similar role

• Skilled in MS Excel (advanced level)

• Knowledgeable in IFRS and SAP S4/HANA (preferred)

• Fluent in German (required); English is a must, Dutch or French is a plus

• A strong communicator and team player with excellent time management skills
