Financial Controller Property Management
Location: North York, Ontario

Our client, a well-established Property Management company in North York, is seeking an experienced Financial Controller to oversee full-cycle real estate accounting and financial operations. This role requires a strong understanding of condo profitability, financial reporting, and leadership within a finance team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee full-cycle real estate accounting, including financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting
- Focus on condo profitability, pulling data from Yardi Voyager 7S and Dayforce HRIS and integrating it into Excel-based reports
- Develop efficient processes to link payroll information with profitability reporting
- Work closely with the Business Transformation Manager and Business Analyst while they search for a more automated reporting solution
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal controls
- Manage financial statements, cash flow, and tax planning
- Supervise and mentor accounting staff
Qualifications & Requirements:
- CPA designation (required)
- 5+ years of experience in full-cycle real estate accounting at a Controller level
- Advanced Excel skills to manage complex financial data without becoming overwhelmed
- Experience with Yardi Voyager 7S (required)
- Property Management accounting experience (an asset)
- Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Proactive mindset with problem-solving abilities
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) to confidently interact with Site Operations Managers, District Accounting Managers, Directors
- Ability to manage meetings independently and communicate with authority
- Experience managing people, handling conflict, and having difficult conversations professionally
- Ability to foster direct communication among team members without relying on senior leadership for mediation
