Job Description:

Reporting to the Manager, Financial Planning Tools and Training, this role provides business technical support in the development, implementation, maintenance, and effectiveness of the holistic needs analysis/ planning sales tools. The primary focus of the incumbent in this role will be to work closely with Estate & Financial Planning Services (EFPS) and Financial Planning Consultants in supporting the business/ technical platform, to assist advisors in developing their technical skills and knowledge. The incumbent will also assist the Sun Life SLFD advisor to build basic holistic needs analysis in One Plan (Conquest) based on the Needs Based Selling Practice.

What will you do?

  • Replying to email requests for assistance delivered to the shared inbox within the 24 hours service level agreement

  • Manage and maintain files in shared inbox, Salesforce, OneNote and SharePoint sites relating to requests received specific to Conquest support

  • Configure business elements of Conquest following all established protocols. For example: coordinate manual provisioning for Production, Training and UAT environments, and track for audit purposes

  • Track defect and enhancement requests to assist and align to the Conquest Product Owner for monthly releases

  • As the support consultant, you play a key role in the testing for business, including testing defect fixes

  • Liaise directly with Conquest Planning support team as needed to obtain business and technical related support

  • Escalates technical issues regarding access issues to Conquest, to correct business units for solution. For example, Salesforce integration, WalkMe support and ServiceNow requests

  • Provide basic technical/needs analysis training support for Sun Life SLFD advisors, field managers/staff, EFPS and head office business partners, as required via Training and/or Production environment for Conquest

  • Liaise with Manager of Financial Planning Tools and Training to monitor and evaluate issues/gaps that create potential training and/or marketing opportunities for the SLFD field managers and advisors

What do you need to succeed?

  • Post-secondary education and 5 years experience working with technology/software (contact management systems, needs analysis, financial planning) and current advisor tools

  • Solid knowledge of the fundamentals of the Sun Life business (e.g. life, health and wealth products)

  • Collaborates effectively with team members and other business units

  • Focuses on the customer: Builds relationships with customers by understanding and responding to their needs

  • Communicates confidently: Shares relevant information in a direct, compelling, and transparent fashion

  • Generates innovative solutions: Thinks creatively to positively impact the business

  • Above average technology literacy

  • Above average understanding of advisor business practices

  • Experience in requirements and process analysis - i.e. in understanding the needs and requirements of the end user

  • Ability to articulate business needs and requirements clearly and effectively

  • Ability to focus on details while maintaining a big picture perspective of the project and business goals

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Excellent organizational skills

  • Strong team player with an ability to work well under pressure

  • Agile and flexible; able to think and act quickly on their feet

  • Time management skill

  • Bilingualism (French, English, both oral and written) is required for the frequent interactions with English and French-speaking colleagues or internal partners across Canada and worldwide

  • Prior experience working with sales tools and financial planning software (Conquest)

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance. Certain sales focused roles have sales incentive plans based on individual or group sales results.
