French Tutor (Remote And/Or In-Person)

My French Tutors is looking for kind, reliable, fun and engaging tutors - who also have a knack for teaching.

We are looking for university students and/or educators to help students with their French journey. This includes various core curriculum subjects including math, science, reading, etc. (In French of course!)

The hours are part-time (minimum 6 hours per week) and consist of mostly after-school, early evenings, and optional weekends. This means you choose the days and times that work best for you and your schedule. Plus, you can choose the subjects you're most comfortable teaching.

A background in education is an asset but not required.

PLEASE READ: Developing relationships with students is essential - because of this we are looking for long-term tutors. We are NOT looking for individuals looking for temporary work or seasonal only.

We are looking for in-person and virtual tutors. Ideal candidates can do both and begin as soon as possible.

Successful applicants must:

• Have a knack for teaching
• Fluent in French and English
• Patient and kind
• Experience working with children and/or teens
• Available evenings
• Proficient in Zoom (for virtual tutors)
• Strong and reliable internet (for virtual tutors)
• Be willing to travel (for in-person tutors)
• Have a vehicle (MAJOR ASSET for in-person tutors)

In-person tutors must be available to work in one or more of the following neighbourhoods in Ottawa:

• Alta-Vista
• Barrhaven
• The Glebe
• Greenboro
• Kanata
• Nepean
• Orleans
• South Keys/Hunt Club

Successful applicants will be required to provide a Vulnerable Sector Check.

$28/hr is the rate for virtual tutoring and $43/hr is the rate for in-person tutoring.
