We are looking for

Fruit Production Leading Hands to lead small teams in orchard tasks, including:

pruning, thinning, and harvesting. The role supports supervisors and ensures

efficient operations in the Bay of Plenty region.

efficient production in the Bay of Plenty region.


Job Description:


Position Title: Fruit Production Leading Hand

Number of Positions: 2

Location: Bay of Plenty, New Zealand

Pay Rate: $28 – $33 per hour

Hours of Work: 30 – 40 hours per week

Key Requirements

Minimum 2 years of experience OR Level 4 Qualification.


Key Responsibilities


  • Assist supervisors in managing orchard operations and seasonal tasks.
  • Lead small teams for pruning, thinning, harvesting, and general maintenance.
  • Operate and maintain horticultural tools and equipment safely.
  • Monitor work quality and report issues to supervisors.
  • Support the training of new staff and ensure adherence to safety guidelines.
  • Coordinate daily work schedules for team members.
  • Ensure proper handling and storage of harvested crops.
  • Implement orchard hygiene and pest control measures.
  • Maintain records of work completed and report progress.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to achieve targets.

  • Plan and implement work programs for pruning, thinning, and harvesting.
  • Maintain accurate records of crop performance and operational activities.
  • Liaise with management to report progress and resolve operational issues.
  • Oversee the use and maintenance of orchard machinery and equipment.
  • Manage workforce scheduling and task allocation for efficiency.
  • Implement quality control measures to ensure high crop standards.

Key Requirements
