Food Safety, Quality and Regulatory Internship:

You will go through an extensive training program that enables you to become familiar with plant operations, and to develop knowledge of meat processing production, including good manufacturing practices, Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP), food safety, quality, process control and regulatory compliance.

As a Food Safety, Quality and Regulatory Co-op you will learn the various aspects of the business as well as be assigned a project that aligns you with our operational needs. You will be trained in various areas required to learn basic skills to understand the process to complete assigned project(s). These areas of training/projects may include the following: Food Safety
Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s); CFIA Regulations and Requirements; Sanitation Requirements; HACCP; Food Safety Initiatives; FSSC / ISO 22000; Product Sampling Operations
Plant operations; Plant process studies; Process Improvements Inventory Management (scheduling/planning/maintaining inventory) EHS
Overview of OSHA Requirements; Safety Training; Injury/Illness Reporting; Job Task Procedures (JTP’s)

Internship Programming:
We offer relocation reimbursement to interns who qualify (based on mileage)
Internships are paid and are at least 16 weeks in duration
Day–to-day transportation to and from work is the responsibility of the co-op
Interns who demonstrate outstanding performance and a curiosity to learn more may be offered a full-time position for the following year!

Environment:
Our FSQR labs are located in an industrial/processing plant environment. Our plants are fast paced and exciting. This job involves physical activity which generally requires a moderate amount of exertion on a fairly regular basis – involving bending, stooping, squatting, twisting, reaching, working on irregular surfaces, occasional lifting of objects weighing over 50 pounds and frequent lifting of 10-25 pounds. The work may also involve other exertions, conditions or exposures (i.e. heat, cold, working in wet environment). Internship details:
Interns are paid hourly for time worked. Interns are responsible for transportation to and from work. Interns who demonstrate outstanding performance and a curiosity to learn more may be offered an internship, co-op or full-time position to return the following year. Our Programming:

Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Animal Science, Food Science, Ag-Business, Ag-Econ, Engineering, Business Administration or related fields and graduating between December 2024 and May 2026
Ability to complete a 8 month co-op starting in September 2023
Willingness to work evening, night, weekend and rotating shifts if required
Must be legally entitled to work for Cargill in Canada Preferred Qualifications:

Shown ability to work with individuals from a diverse group of backgrounds
Must possess a high degree of initiative and resourcefulness in completing work with limited mentorship
