Job Description:
We’re seeking a Kitchen Porter/Kitchen Assistant to keep our kitchen spotless and support our chefs. If you’re a hardworking, fast-paced, and reliable team player who thrives on staying active, we want you! You should be able to manage tasks independently and handle physical work consistently. The ideal candidate will be reliable, have a strong work ethic, and be prepared to contribute actively throughout their shift. Your duties will include but are not limited to:
- Ensuring the cleanliness of kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas according to sanitation standards.
- Assisting with basic food preparation tasks, such as washing, peeling, and chopping vegetables, as directed by the chef.
- Handling and storing food items in compliance with safety procedures.
- Emptying and cleaning trash bins and disposing of waste properly.
- Assisting in receiving and storing deliveries.
- Adhering to health and safety regulations at all times.
Note: This position will initially start as a temporary role through our recruitment agency, with the potential to transition to a permanent position with the hiring company based on performance and suitability.
Requirements:
- Kitchen experience (at least 2 years) and a strong focus on customer service
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekdays and weekends, as required.
- Advanced level of English language proficiency.
- Legally be able to work full time in Ireland.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritizing, and managing time well
- Ability to delegate where appropriate and have a ‘can do’ hands-on attitude
- Outgoing, confident & enthusiastic
- Ability to work well in a team, even in a fast-paced environment
- Handles pressure and responsibilities effectively
- Ability to manage area and work under pressure
- Manual handling certificates preferrable under pressure.
