Furniture Delivery Driver/Assembler

Bench-Tek Solutions in Santa Clara is a leading manufacturer and distributor of fully-welded workbenches, carts & racks for use in laboratory and industrial facilities.

We are seeking an energetic and responsible full-time driver for a three-month contract with the potential to stay on as a full-time assembler/driver. This candidate should enjoy working as part of a team. The candidate will initially spend the majority of their time driving and will also be trained to assist in the assembly department. Flexibility is an important quality for this candidate as the balance of responsibilities between assembly and driving may shift frequently. The ideal candidate is one who enjoys working as part of a team, takes pride in their work, and maintains a positive attitude with a desire to continuously learn and grow.

Schedule:

· Monday – Friday. 7 AM – 3:30 PM

Description/Responsibilities:

DRIVER

· Assist in loading truck and securing products for transportation

· Deliver products to clients in a 23’ Box Truck, typically within a 50-mile radius.

· Offload products at client facility either to a loading dock or inside the facility.

· Communicate with clients in a friendly and professional manner.

ASSEMBLER

· Follow assembly instructions to assemble workbenches, carts, and racks using power and hand tools

· Stage orders for deliveries

· Load & offload products and materials from trucks by hand, dolly, or pallet jacks

• Assist coworkers with miscellaneous shop tasks as needed, such as sanding, cutting, and prepping raw materials
• Maintain a clean work area
• Continuously attempt to improve on efficiency and productivity

Qualifications:

· Clean driving record

· Some experience driving Box Trucks (23’)

· Good communication skills and comfortable interacting with clients during deliveries

· Ability to occasionally lift up to 75 lbs and to perform extensive physical activities associated with manufacturing

· Ability to work in a fast-paced shop environment while maintaining the safety of yourself and coworkers

· Basic understanding of the use of hand and power tools

· An overall positive attitude and desire to work as part of a team

· Responsible candidate that takes pride and ownership in their work, attention to detail

· Ability to operate a forklift is a plus, but not required

· Able to wear provided personal protective equipment and appropriate clothing

Salary & Benefits:

· Starting rate is $25– $30 per hour depending on skills and experience

· Health and Dental Benefits available after 90 day period
