Garden Maintenance Crew Member

Position Summary

Plum Gardens provides garden maintenance to residential properties in Collingwood, The Blue Mountains, Thornbury and surrounding areas. Our goal is to provide professional and high-quality service to our clients.

Plum Gardens employees work as a team to keep gardens healthy throughout the spring, summer, and fall seasons. This position is great for nature loving individuals with positive attitudes and who enjoy working outdoors.

Duties and Responsibilities

• deadheading perennials
• pruning of shrubs and trees
• weeding
• cultivating
• raking
• planting of annuals, perennials and bulbs
• heavy digging
• applying mulch/soil

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

• Outdoor job experience in the horticulture industry is an asset but not required.
• Ability to physically work hard, work under pressure to meet timelines and get the job completed.
• Possess initiative and integrity.
• Willingness to learn / ability to use all hand tools related to gardening: pruners, rake, cultivator, edger, and some gas-powered equipment (blower, line trimmer, leaf vacuum, and gas shears).
• Have an eye for high level of detail and ability to use your discretion and good judgement
• Ability to be tactful in all dealings, and be self-motivated
