JOB SUMMARY:

This role combines accounting and financial analysis responsibilities, focusing on service-related accounting, forecasting, and reporting for the Asia service business. The ideal candidate will work closely with management and operations teams to ensure accurate financial reporting and analysis of service operations

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Service Revenue and Cost Management

  • Monitor and analyze service-related accounting transactions
  • Ensure proper contract revenue recognition
  • Oversee revenue and cost alignment for service operations
  • Track and analyze actual financial results against forecasts and budget
  • Review significant accounting estimates impacting services (warranty, excess and obsolete). Develop forecast methods based on historical trends, product reliability trends, sales volume etc.
  • Investigate significant cost variances, identify root causes, and work with service operations to develop and implement corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with the service team to identify and implement cost-saving initiatives, such as optimizing technician scheduling, promoting remote diagnostics, and standardizing service procedures

Financial Reporting and Analysis

  • Prepare and deliver timely and accurate monthly service financial reports, including key performance indicators, variance analysis, and insightful commentary.
  • Participate in the annual budgeting process for the service organization and develop periodic forecasts for service revenue, costs, and profitability
  • Assist in the preparation of the monthly Asia service reporting deck.

Internal controls and compliance

  • Assist in documenting and maintaining key financial processes within the service organization.
  • Provide support during internal, external and SOX audits related to the service business.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field, professional certification (CPA/ACCA) preferred
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices (e.g., IFRS, GAAP) specifically service revenue recognition rules
  • 3-5 yrs experience in cost accounting and financial analysis.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in financial modeling and reporting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with non-financial stakeholders.
  • Experience with ERP systems (Oracle) and service management software.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Business acumen and understanding of the service industry.
