General Manager - Nursing Home ( Offaly)

As General Manager, you will oversee both the clinical and operational aspects of the nursing home, ensuring that high-quality, person-centred care is delivered consistently. You will work closely with the Person in Charge (PIC), helping to drive organizational strategy while supporting a positive work culture where staff feel valued, motivated, and engaged.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Operational Management: Support the clinical and operational management of the nursing home, ensuring the highest standards of care are maintained in line with National Quality Standards.
- Strategic Vision & Planning: Collaborate with the leadership team to set and implement strategic goals for the nursing home. Contribute to the creation of annual operating plans and performance targets.
- Clinical Governance & Quality Assurance: Oversee clinical practice, ensuring compliance with best practices and regulatory standards (HIQA). Lead initiatives for quality improvement, clinical governance, and the overall health and safety culture.
- Team Development & Support: Lead a diverse team, offering guidance and support to nursing and care staff. Promote a culture of respect, open communication, and teamwork. Provide coaching and development opportunities for staff to grow and succeed.
- Financial & Operational Management: Monitor and manage the nursing home’s operating costs, ensuring financial targets are met. Develop and manage budgets, focusing on cost efficiency and achieving occupancy and resident outcomes.
- External Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong relationships with external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies (HIQA, EPA), referral sources, and other partners, ensuring all regulatory requirements and compliance standards are met.
Requirements:
- 10+ years of management experience, including at least 5 years at a senior management level in a complex, regulated environment.
- Proven experience in financial operations, budget management, and data analysis.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Knowledge and understanding of HIQA standards, regulations, and quality assurance practices.
- Problem-solving mindset with a focus on achieving results and continuously improving operations.
- Ability to work effectively in a regulated environment, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation.
