The successful candidate must have:

• Minimum Level 7 Degree in Early Childhood Education and Care (Or Equivalent)
• Relevant experience working in an Early years service.
• Previous experience in supervisory role.
• Excellent knowledge of QRF, Childcare regulations, Aistear and Síolta.

Main Responsibilities

To assist the Early Years Coordinator to deliver a quality childcare service through the following:

• Leading an assigned childcare room and supporting the childcare team in all aspects of practice.
• Ensuring the welfare of all children attending the service is of paramount importance and that their development and well-being is achieved through promoting the holistic needs of each child attending the service.
• To maintain records necessary for the running of the childcare service in accordance with all relevant and up to date Childcare/pre-school services Regulations.
• Ensure the safety, security and wellbeing of all children registered with the childcare service and availing of childcare service.
• Monitor and ensure quality and safety standards are maintained in the childcare service at all times.
• Promote a child centered approach in ELC in partnership with children promoting their agency and participation.
• Create high stimulating and quality learning environments indoors and outdoors for children that ensure their safety and security, promote child centered learning and offer engaging and enriching experiences that support and promote their health, wellbeing, identity and belonging and learning and development.
