Grant Accountant - Temporary Position - 3-month coverage

Community Child Care Solutions, Located in Perth Amboy and Somerville

Under the direction of the Executive Director, the Grant Accountant is responsible for creating and monitoring the Agency's budget, monitor and evaluate all program revenue and expenses, create budget for grants and prepare expenditure reports.

Responsibilities:

• Fiscal and Accounting operations that ensure accurate and timely transaction processing and financial reporting.
• Maintain current records of agency contracts and grants.
• Prepare monthly and quarterly expenditure reports, annual budgets, and contract modifications, as needed.
• Analyze expenditures, including checking flexible limits as they pertain to contracts.
• Prepare annual agency operating budget.
• Prepare variance analysis for quarterly budget meetings with senior management and program managers.
• Be familiar with State of New Jersey Grant Budgeting, Reporting and Modification requirements, including preparation of Annex B Expenditure reports.
• Ensure compliance with accounting principles, regulations, and reporting requirements.
• Process expense payments in Microix.

Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, plus 2-5 years of grant accounting experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Familiarity with MIP Fund Accounting software a plus.
• Position requires a high degree of organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to analyze and interpret technical procedures and government regulations.
• Ability to exercise good judgment and discretion, especially with regard to sensitive or confidential financial or organizational matters.
