Location: Remote (U.S.-based)
Type: Temporary (3-month term, with possibility of transition to regular full-time role)
Rate of Pay: $5,850.00 Monthly (paid out on a bi-weekly frequency)

We amplify the voices of Indigenous women and women of color to achieve reproductive justice by eradicating reproductive oppression and securing human rights. We use art, culture, and storytelling as powerful tools for education, movement-building, and social change.


Position Summary

The Graphic & Web Designer / Creative Coordinator is responsible for creating visually compelling materials and digital experiences that bring SisterSong’s mission, campaigns, and events to life. This role blends artistic creativity, web design expertise, and technical execution to produce impactful visuals that advance Reproductive Justice.

Reporting to the Communications & Digital Strategy Manager, the designer will contribute to projects ranging from quick-turnaround social media content to full campaign visuals, event materials, and ongoing website updates. Collaboration and teamwork are central to this position—you’ll work closely with the communications team to maintain brand consistency while infusing your unique creative perspective into every project.


Essential Duties

  • Design digital and print assets including social media graphics, reports, presentations, toolkits, merchandise, and promotional materials.

  • Design, build, and update website pages in both Webflow and Squarespace to support campaigns, events, and organizational storytelling.
  • Develop website graphics, landing pages, and visual updates that align with SisterSong’s campaigns and brand guidelines.
  • Ensure all web designs meet accessibility, responsiveness, and SEO best practices.
  • Create branded visuals for campaigns, programs, and special events (including conferences, festivals, and trainings).
  • Support email campaigns with branded headers and graphics optimized for newsletters and announcements.
  • Develop original illustrations and artwork that reflect SisterSong’s cultural and activist expression.
  • Manage multiple design and web projects with clear communication, timely delivery, and version control.
  • Maintain an organized archive of templates, design files, and web assets across digital platforms.


Minimum Qualifications

  • 2–4 years of professional experience in graphic design or web design (nonprofit or movement experience a plus).

  • Proficiency in both Webflow and Squarespace is required.
  • Proven experience building, designing, and maintaining visually engaging, user-friendly websites in both platforms.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign), Canva, and other relevant design tools.
  • Strong artistic and illustration skills; ability to create original artwork beyond templates.
  • Familiarity with email design basics (headers and graphics for common email platforms).
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to balance creativity with brand consistency and accessibility.
  • Deep commitment to Reproductive Justice, intersectionality, and SisterSong’s mission and values.


Preferred (Bonus) Skills

  • Experience with motion graphics, animation, or 3D design/illustration.

  • Experience designing visuals for conferences, campaigns, and movement events (signage, program books, merchandise).
  • Basic understanding of HTML/CSS and responsive design principles.
  • Familiarity with UX/UI design best practices and accessibility standards for web.

Additional Details

This is a 3-month temporary position with the potential to transition to a regular full-time role, contingent upon performance and the success of work produced during the temporary period.
As part of the interview process, a creative activity will be required to assess design approach and alignment with SisterSong’s aesthetic. Applicants must also submit their most up-to-date design and web portfolio (including Webflow and Squarespace examples) with their application.
