Greenpeace International is looking for a dynamic and strategic Head of Data to lead the development and implementation of a global data strategy that will drive Greenpeace’s ability to engage with the public, deliver high-impact campaigns, and ensure data-informed decision-making across the organisation. The Technology Department delivers technology and data solutions to enable the Greenpeace network to win campaigns faster and support an efficient global organisation. In this role, you will ensure that Greenpeace’s data and technology reflect our values and our mission for a green and peaceful future.
In this role you will:
Lead data strategy development and implementation across Greenpeace International, ensuring that data and analytics are integrated into every aspect of the organisation's work.
Oversee the development of a global data strategy, maximizing the impact of multi-million euro investments through data-driven decision-making.
Lead the creation of data architecture within a federated framework and ensure alignment with Greenpeace’s strategic objectives.
Manage and develop the data & analytics team, fostering a high-performing culture of collaboration, accountability, and innovation.
Oversee the lifecycle management of data systems, ensuring their continued relevance and effectiveness.
Ensure robust data governance practices, maintaining policy adherence and risk management across the Greenpeace network.
Collaborate with senior stakeholders at Greenpeace International and National/Regional organisations to ensure alignment of data strategies.

What we’re looking for:
Remember no one has every skill or experience needed for this role and you’ll have the opportunity to learn a lot from the team. We believe someone who has a few of these is well suited to exceed in this role:
Significant experience in a senior data leadership role (at least 5 years), guiding strategy and leading teams in complex, multicultural environments.Expertise in data technology and analytics, with deep understanding of modern data platforms, including CRM, business intelligence, and cloud data technologies. Experience with Google BigQuery, Fivetran and dbt is a plus.
A proven ability to deliver actionable insights that support fundraising, marketing, communications, and digital mobilisation efforts.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to present complex data in a clear, impactful way to senior stakeholders.
Experience working across multiple regions and managing remote teams across time zones.
Fluent written and spoken English, with additional languages a plus.
Willingness for international travel and flexible working hours.
Demonstrable support for and belief in the Greenpeace network core aims and values.
Digital literacy skills; the ability to learn and utilise our digital platforms to successfully perform the role function (familiarity with G-Suite, Slack and Zoom is an advantage)
