Company Overview: Innomotics are a leading provider of large electrical drive systems and automation solutions, specializing in the mining sector. As we continue to grow, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Sales to lead our Australian sales division, overseeing a high-performing team that manages project management and bid teams, and fosters strategic customer relationships.
Position Overview: The Head of Sales will be responsible for driving the sales strategy, operational management, and growth of our large drive systems for the Innomotics Australian organisation. This position leads a team of leaders who manage project managers and the bid team, with a clear focus on expanding market share and building strong, lasting customer relationships with our customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a team of sales leaders, and bid specialists to achieve the company's sales targets and business objectives in the Australian market.
- Develop and implement the sales strategy, ensuring alignment with global and regional business goals.
- Oversee the identification, qualification, and management of sales opportunities across multiple industrial sectors in the mining industry, including mineral processing and extraction, Oil and Gas and Water and Waster Water.
- Drive full sales efforts from technical survey, proposal delivery (both technical and commercial), to securing customer orders.
- Maintain and build relationships with key executive-level customers, ensuring long-term satisfaction and continued business growth.
- Collaborate closely with the engineering, project management, and service teams to ensure effective proposal development, delivery, and after-sales support.
- Mentor and support sales teams, especially with complex proposals, RFP responses, and customer presentations for large accounts.
- Work closely with leadership to define and execute the budget and forecast for the business, including P&L management.
- Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction by leading continuous improvement efforts and promoting the company's values and standards across teams.
- Lead business development and sales campaigns within all industrial sectors, aligning marketing and pricing strategies with regional market demands.
- Monitor competitor activities and market trends, adjusting sales strategies to maintain competitive advantage.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 10 years of experience in sales, business development, within the mining and heavy industrial sectors.
- Proven experience leading and managing cross-functional teams, including sales leaders, and bid teams.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, and automation solutions, particularly in the mining, minerals, or related industries.
- Demonstrated ability to manage P&L responsibilities and deliver financial results.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders.
- Experience in coordinating complex sales processes and managing key customer relationships.
- Ability to navigate and lead teams through a multi-stage sales cycle involving technical assessments, proposal creation, and contract negotiation.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, electrical or mechanical systems, or a related technical field. MBA is a plus.
