ABOUT THE ROLE – This is a fixed term 2 year contract
This role is accountable for the delivery of a best practice, safe, efficient and effective high performance management program for the athletes (boys and girls) involved in the talented player pathway in Tasmania. This role provides leadership and expertise to the staff across the three Tasmanian Talent regions in the areas of strength, conditioning, recovery, rehabilitation and accurate reporting of player physical welfare and development.
A DAY IN THE LIFE OF
Key Accountabilities:
- Provide leadership, direction and a best practice program that ensures Tasmanian Talent players (girls and boys) are receiving high level physical development practices and regions are ensuring minimum standards for S&C across the State. This includes closely working with and mentoring the S&C staff across the three regions.
- Oversee the physical development and welfare of athletes in the Tasmanian or Allies State Academy programs. This includes working with medical staff to ensure medical screenings are adequately completed.
- Ensure compliance for all Tasmanian athletes within the national Smartabase monitoring program.
- Benchmarking and Feedback to players, coaches and medical staff
- Providing individual player feedback / learning from data gathering and analyst programming
- Assist and Develop Individual Player Management Plans in consultation with Head Coaches
- Coordinate Talent Fitness Testing Days, State Academy U16 Combines and pre-Draft State Combines.
- Play an active role in the development of the Junior Academy in relation to High Performance elements of the program
- Manage, report and analyse GPS tracking data across Tasmanian talent programs.
- Stay current and apply modern high-performance technology to enhance the Tasmanian pathway programs.

- Experience in leading and managing a team

- Experience in stakeholder engagement, planning and delivery
- ESSA - Accredited Sports Scientist Level 1
- ASCA - Level 2 Strength and Conditioning Coach Accreditation
- Experience utilising GPS and interpretation of data
- Usage and management of an Athlete Management system
