Horticulture Leading Hand & Agricultural And Horticultural Mobile Plant Operator

Position Available: Horticulture Leading Hand

Number of Positions Available: 5
Location: Bay of Plenty
Pay Rate: $32 – $38 per hour
Hours of Work: 30 – 40 hours per week

Key Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience OR Level 4 or higher qualification.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and Supervise horticultural team supervisors and crews during mulching, mowing, planting, and maintenance tasks
• Allocate daily tasks and monitor progress to meet project timelines
• Train and mentor junior staff on horticultural techniques and safety procedures
• Conduct site inspections and ensure work meets quality standards
• Operate basic horticultural equipment and tools
• Maintain records of work completed, staff attendance, and site conditions
• Communicate with clients and report issues to management
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations
• Assist with scheduling and resource planning for field operations

Position Available: Agricultural and Horticultural Mobile Plant Operator

Location: Bay of Plenty
Pay Rate: $28 – $32 per hour
Hours of Work: 30 – 40 hours per week

Key Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of experience OR Level 4 or higher qualification.
• And Valid NZ or Overseas driver’s license (Class 1)

Key Responsibilities

• Operate mobile plant equipment including tractors, mulchers, mowers, and excavators
• Perform land clearing, vegetation control, and site preparation tasks
• Conduct routine maintenance and safety checks on machinery
• Transport equipment between job sites as required
• Follow site plans and instructions from supervisors
• Ensure safe operation in accordance with workplace and environmental standards
• Assist with manual tasks when machinery is not in use
• Maintain logs of equipment usage, fuel consumption, and service records
• Report faults or hazards to management promptly
