The Arklow Bay Hotel is a well-established 4-star hotel located in the charming seaside town of Arklow, Co. Wicklow, Ireland’s scenic Garden County. Centrally located within the county, we are ideally positioned near both Dublin and Wexford, with excellent rail and bus links, and are situated just off the N11 motorway for convenient access by car.

Set beside a stunning nature reserve and overlooking the Irish Sea, the hotel offers 91 elegant bedrooms—many with beautiful views across the bay. Our extensive Conference & Banqueting facilities can host up to 450 guests, making us a premier destination for weddings, corporate events, and private functions.

We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Hotel Duty Manager to join our leadership team at a stunning 4-star hotel, located in the heart of the Garden County, right beside a protected nature reserve. This role is ideal for someone with a passion for service excellence, strong Food & Beverage leadership experience, and the operational confidence to ensure smooth coordination across all departments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Act as the manager on duty, overseeing daily operations across F&B, Front Office, Housekeeping, and Conference & Banqueting functions.
• Support the Food & Beverage service teams in bars, restaurant and event spaces, ensuring exceptional guest experiences at all times.
• Oversee & support aspects of conference and banqueting operations, including room setups, turnarounds, and liaising with the sales and events teams to ensure client specifications are met.
• Conduct detailed checks of event spaces, ensuring room layouts, equipment, and service standards meet hotel and guest expectations.
• Respond promptly to guest issues or service disruptions, resolving them efficiently to maintain guest satisfaction.
• Collaborate closely with Sales, Front Office, Restaurant, and Bar teams to ensure effective communication and service delivery across departments.
• Ensure compliance with health & safety, licensing laws, and hotel policies at all times.
• Conduct shift briefings where necessary, manage handovers, and maintain effective communication logs.

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of experience in a duty manager role in a 4-star or higher hotel.
• Strong background in Food & Beverage, including restaurant, bar, and event operations.
• Proven Conference & Banqueting experience, with confidence in room setups, changeovers, and guest liaison.
• Front Office experience would be a strong advantage.
• Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and coordinate cross-functional teams.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and respond quickly to operational needs or guest concerns.
• Flexible with working hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
• Knowledge of hotel software systems such as Hotsoft an advantage.
