Hotel Duty Manager

Job Title: Duty Manager Location: On-site, 4 Star Hotel
Employment Type: Full-time (Shift-based including evenings, weekends and holidays)

Job Overview

We are seeking a professional, proactive and guest-focused Duty Manager to oversee the daily operations of our 4-star hotel. The successful candidate will ensure an exceptional guest experience, maintain high service standards and support department teams during each shift. This role requires strong leadership, excellent communication skills and the ability to resolve issues efficiently while maintaining the highest standards of hospitality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day hotel operations during assigned shifts.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for guests, handling queries, concerns and complaints in a professional manner.
  • Ensure exceptional guest service standards are maintained across all departments.
  • Support and coordinate with the Front Office, Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, Sales and Marketing, Wedding and Events, Spa, Golf and Maintenance teams.
  • Conduct daily floor walks to ensure cleanliness, presentation and service standards meet 4-star expectations.
  • Handle guest feedback and service recovery to ensure a positive guest experience.
  • Monitor health & safety compliance and respond appropriately to any incidents.
  • Assist with staff supervision and support, ensuring smooth shift operations.
  • Manage guest check-ins/check-outs during busy periods when required.
  • Prepare shift reports and communicate operational updates to senior management.
  • Ensure security procedures and hotel policies are followed at all times.
  • Assist with VIP guest arrivals and special requests.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a supervisory or management role within a hotel or hospitality environment.
  • Experience in a 4-star or 5-star hotel environment preferred.
  • Strong leadership, communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and make decisions quickly.
  • Excellent customer service and guest relations skills.
  • Flexible availability to work shifts, weekends and public holidays.
  • Professional presentation and a positive attitude.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: From €31,000.00 per year
