Hotel Night Porter

Job Description

We are seeking a Night Porter to help ensure the smooth and secure operation of the hotel during the night. This role involves providing excellent customer service, maintaining security, assisting with guest requests, and carrying out housekeeping duties as required. The Night Porter is often the first point of contact for late arrivals and must maintain the hotel’s high standards of hospitality at all times.

Key Responsibilities

• Welcome and assist guests arriving or departing during night hours.
• Ensure the safety and security of the hotel premises by conducting regular walks of public areas.
• Handle guest queries and requests promptly and professionally.
• Assist with check-in/check-out procedures as required.
• Carry out cleaning and housekeeping duties in public areas to maintain high standards of presentation.
• Support the night audit process by preparing paperwork or delivering reports as directed.
• Set up conference rooms and / or dining areas
• Respond to emergencies, including fire alarms or medical incidents, following hotel procedures.
• Manage luggage assistance, deliveries, and guest wake-up calls.
• Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a seamless handover to the day team.

Skills & Qualifications

• Previous experience in hospitality, security, or customer service (preferred but not essential).
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and remain calm under pressure.
• Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Basic IT/computer knowledge (for handling reservations, emails, or reports).
• Physically fit to carry out manual handling tasks.
• Requirement to work night shifts 22.30 – 07.00 including weekends and holidays.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From €13.55 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
