Role Summary
The HR Head is responsible for leading and managing all human resources functions of the company, ensuring full compliance with Philippine labor laws, effective workforce planning, strong recruitment systems, and modern HR operations supported by technology and AI tools. This role balances strategic oversight with hands-on execution.
Key Responsibilities1. HR Strategy & Leadership
- Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with business goals
- Act as a strategic partner to management on workforce planning, organization structure, and people development
- Oversee HR team performance and ensure timely delivery of HR functions
- Drive continuous improvement in HR processes and policies
2. Recruitment & Talent Acquisition
- Lead end-to-end recruitment for all levels (rank-and-file to managerial)
- Manage and optimize recruitment across multiple platforms and portals (e.g., job boards, social media, referrals, agencies)
- Screen, interview, and assess candidates effectively
- Ensure proper onboarding and probationary tracking
- Maintain a talent pipeline and succession planning framework
3. Compliance, Labor Relations & DOLE Matters
- Ensure full compliance with Philippine labor laws and DOLE regulations
- Handle employee relations, disciplinary actions, investigations, and grievance procedures
- Represent the company in DOLE proceedings, labor cases, and arbitration when required
- Draft and enforce company policies, employee handbooks, and disciplinary guidelines
- Monitor compliance with mandatory benefits, statutory contributions, and government filings
4. Policies, Procedures & Documentation
- Draft, review, and update HR policies and manuals
- Ensure consistency and fairness in policy implementation across the organization
- Maintain proper documentation for employee records, contracts, and HR files
- Align company practices with audit and legal requirements
5. HR Operations & Systems
- Oversee payroll coordination, attendance, leave management, and employee records
- Implement and manage HRIS and digital HR tools
- Ensure data accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance
- Streamline HR workflows to improve efficiency and reduce manual work
6. Technology & AI Enablement
- Must be computer savvy and highly comfortable with digital tools
- Use AI tools to improve recruitment, screening, reporting, policy drafting, and HR analytics
- Leverage technology to automate HR processes and improve decision-making
- Continuously explore and recommend new HR tech and AI solutions
7. Training, Performance & Culture
- Develop training and development programs
- Oversee performance management systems and evaluations
- Support leadership development and employee engagement initiatives
- Promote a professional, compliant, and performance-driven work culture
Qualifications & SkillsRequired
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Business Administration, or related field
- Strong knowledge of Philippine labor laws, DOLE rules, and arbitration processes
- Proven experience in recruitment using multiple platforms
- Strong policy drafting and compliance background
- High level of computer literacy
- Proficiency with HR systems, spreadsheets, and documentation tools
- Comfortable using AI tools for HR efficiency and analysis
Preferred
- 8–10+ years of HR experience, with leadership or managerial exposure
- Experience handling labor cases or DOLE proceedings
- Background in retail, operations, or multi-site organizations
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills
