We are currently seeking to employ a HSE Advisor to our Support Services team based in Upper Hutt. In this role, you will ensure compliance and continuous improvement to Health, Safety and environmental standards and performance, by providing an advisory, monitoring and support service to the Business Units operations.

  • Leading the BU HSE matters and influencing good practice and a strong HSE culture across the business working towards highly effective worker participation practices.
  • Ensuring the BU HSE operational risks are identified, communicated and managed.
  • Working with the BU key stakeholders to ensure the HSE relevant Omexom Management System requirements and HSE strategy initiatives are implemented and practiced to a high standard.
  • Ensuring HSE technical control alignment with regulatory requirements, client requirements, and consistency of good practice deployment across the Business Unit.
  • Contributing to operational HSE innovation to mitigate HSE risk in accordance with legislation, regulatory and industry guides.
  • Conducting BU HSE investigations, lessons learned, safety alerts and actions requirements.
  • Coordinating BU HSE internal audit programme to ensure compliance with the Omexom HSE management system requirements and conducting audits as required.

Qualifications and Skills

  • National Certificate (or equivalent) in Health, Safety and Environmental preferred
  • Health and Safety representative qualification
  • Engineering or Trade qualification (preferred)
  • A working knowledge in the BU’s technical specialisation is preferred but not essential.
  • A working knowledge of the Health and Safety at Work Act and its application in the workplace.
  • Site Safe training
  • HSE Investigation training preferred but not essential.
