JOB DESCRIPTION: HUMAN RESOURCE DIRECTOR
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Current Alabama Teacher's Certification, Master's Degree or higher with an endorsement in administration or supervision
- Three or more years of successful experience in a certificated position
- Experience as an elementary or secondary school-based administrator preferred
- Demonstrated knowledge and application of effective human resources principles, practices, and trends
Essential Duties:
- Administer a wide variety of personnel policies, processes, and employment agreements (recruitment, selection, hiring, orientation, employment contracts, compensation schedule, etc.) for the purpose of conforming to system policies, relevant laws, contracts, and agreements
- Consult and advise administrators on a wide variety of sensitive personnel issues (discipline, hiring, promotions, return to work, etc.) for the purpose of assisting in effective decision-making and enforcing all relevant policies, procedures, and regulations Assistance Program
- Maintain manual and electronic documents, files and records, and reports (background information, personnel files, vacancy listings, LEAPS, detached duty forms, applicant tracking, substitute acquisition system; HR website, etc.) for the purpose of providing accurate information in compliance with regulatory requirements and established guidelines
- Coordinate the recruitment process (advertising vacancies, screening applicants through SearchSoft/Teach in Alabama website, conducting interviews, making recommendations for hire, new employee orientation, etc.) for the purpose of maintaining a highly qualified staff
- Monitor a variety of processes (certificated and classified posting process, interview schedules, substitute placement, certified and classified placements, personnel transfers, new employee orientation, departmental procedures, position control, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring efficient processing of applicants and employees in addressing position requirements and complying with licensing, legal and/or administrative requirements
- Assist with the certification process including alternative certificates, highly qualified, and other federalReports
- Perform personnel administrative functions (hiring, training, supervising, evaluating, providing professional development opportunities, etc.) for the purpose of maintaining adequate staffing, enhancing the productivity of personnel and ensuring departmental/program outcomes are achieved
- Prepare a wide variety of complex written materials (plans, investigative reports, analyses, recommendations, procedures, etc.) for the purpose of documenting activities and issues, meeting compliance requirements, providing audit references, making presentations, and/or providing support materials for requested actions
- Investigate grievances and/or complaints from employees (sexual harassment, pay and/or assignment disputes, etc.) for the purpose of reaching resolutions that provide a healthy work environment
- Participate in meetings, workshops, job fairs, and seminars for the purpose of conveying and gathering information regarding a wide variety of subjects required to carry out their administrative responsibilities
- Manage the Medicaid Administrative Claiming study
- Assist in the assignment and monitoring of laboratory observations and internship placements in
- Montgomery Public Schools in collaboration with area institutions of higher learning establish a positive relationship with students, parents, co-workers, volunteers, and other visitors
- Maintain confidentiality of all functions of Human Resources
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources
