Job Summary
Managing the Louisiana branch location that includes Underwriting and Customer Service team members. Develop and lead a team of Underwriters and Customer Service Representatives to ensure the highest level of customer service is provided and that the Underwriting integrity established by the company is adhered to and enforced. Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Texas office location. Maintaining clear lines of communication both within the local branch as well as the main office.

Working conditions
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely involves standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. In this role you may be asked to travel to the corporate office or other satellite offices (20% travel).

Duties and responsibilities
- Directly involved in the recruitment of the Underwriting and Customer Service employees.
- Facilitate training program and job shadowing program.
- Partner with technology to build efficiency and automation into the workflow.
- Partner with Marketing to build agent relations.
- Responsible for departmental adherence to productivity, quality and schedule adherence.
- Communicate effectively internally and externally.
- Communicate and reinforce the corporate vision at the branch level.
- Oversee the Louisiana office location and provide effective communication with any SafePoint employee that reports to that office as well as their direct management team.
- Foster and maintain a positive company culture at the branch level, aligned with organizational values and standards.
- Always keeping a well-maintained office environment.
- Carry out other duties as defined by immediate supervisor within the capabilities of the jobholder.
Essential Functions
- On-site daily supervision of staff and operations.
- Ability to clearly communicate and ensure adherence to corporate policies and operations procedures.
- Ability to coach and develop team members efficiently.
- Ability to effectively resolve difficult and sensitive situations tactfully, including disciplinary actions and terminations.
- Ability to maintain an organized physical office environment
Qualifications
- 7-10 years of underwriting experience in property and casualty insurance.
- State of Louisiana P&C licensure or equivalent and can successfully obtain reciprocal license.
- Previous leadership experience within an Underwriting department.
- Thorough knowledge of the underwriting process and the analytics involved.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Advanced computer skills and strong systems knowledge
- College degree preferred but not required.
