Intern - F10 Planning Industrial Engineering

Our vision is to transform how the world uses information to enrich life for all.

Join an inclusive team passionate about one thing: using their expertise in the relentless pursuit of innovation for customers and partners. The solutions we build help make everything from virtual reality experiences to breakthroughs in neural networks possible. We do it all while committing to integrity, sustainability, and giving back to our communities. Because doing so can fuel the very innovation we are pursuing.

  • Location: Micron Singapore
  • Department: Fab10 Planning Industrial Engineering
  • Project Title: Development of a Web-Based Capacity What-If Analysis Tool
  • Project Description: Engineering frequently requests multiple what-if analyses from the Industrial Engineering (IE) team. To streamline this process and empower Engineering to explore scenarios independently, this project aims to develop a web-based capacity calculator that allows users to assess the impact of tooling changes across various scenarios.
Objective: To build a centralized and interactive tool that enables Engineering to perform scenario-based analysis independently, reducing manual workload and turnaround time for the IE team.
Learning opportunities: Interns who demonstrate strong technical capabilities, ownership, and collaboration may be considered for full-time opportunities within the Planning IE or related engineering teams
  • Scope:
–Develop a linkage between what-if capacity calculator to centralized database.
–Build an interactive web application where Engineering can input changes to key metrics (e.g., Raw Processing Time, Load Size, Utilization).
–Compute and display impacts on the tooling impact (e.g., Required In-Service Date, Required On-Dock Date, Purchase Order Need Date), and wafers/run rate that can be supported before new tool release.
  • Learning Opportunities:
–Exposure to semiconductor manufacturing planning and tooling strategy.
–Hands-on experience in web development and data modeling.
–Collaboration with cross-functional engineering and planning teams.
–Understanding of capacity modeling and scenario analysis in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
  • Deliverable: A functional web-based Capacity What-If Analysis Tool with centralized input capability and interactive scenario calculator, validated and deployed for Engineering use.
  • Impact of Project: The calculator will reduce manual workload for the IE team, improve turnaround time for Engineering requests, and enable faster, data-driven decision-making for tooling and capacity planning.
  • Skillset Require: Programming (Python), Data visualization (Tableau, Power BI), Web development, Analytical thinking and problem-solving, Familiarization with Planning concept
  • Course of interests: Industrial Engineering, Data Science, Computer Science, or related Engineering fields.
  • Duration Period: min 5 months (Semester Internship from January 2025 to May 2025)
