IQVIA’s Medical Evidence Practice (MEP) and Patient Centered Solutions (PCS)
Our MEP team’s mission statement is to support the expansion of patients’ access to innovative medicines by planning, generating, and disseminating high quality medical evidence. Our Patient Centered Solutions team, within this practice, delivers on strategic research that amplifies the patient’s voice in this evidence generation process.
The PCS team leads the industry in the science of measuring the patient experience. We help our clients by applying our consulting expertise and technical scientific knowledge to design and execute scientifically rigorous research that incorporates the patient voice into the development and commercialization of new medicines. This research includes qualitative (e.g., patient interviews, focus groups), quantitative (e.g., clinical outcome assessments (COAs)/patient-reported outcomes (PROS), preference research) and passive (e.g., digital health technology tools) approaches to understand patient, caregiver and physician experiences and expectations of disease and treatment.
Responsibilities
As an Intern within the PCS team at IQVIA, you’ll be actively participating in the design, development, and delivery of scientific consulting projects or components of larger, complex projects and:
Leveraging business experience and acumen in identifying strategic alternatives and project approach to client questions
Conducting primary and secondary COA research, and analyze research to identify key findings and learnings
Support the development of intellectual property for use on future engagements
Creating sections of reports, presentations, workshops and other client deliverables, under general guidance from experienced team leaders
Assisting with business development and proposals
Working independently or as part of a team
Developing broad knowledge of related consulting methodologies and the pharmaceutical market through the delivery of consulting engagements and participation in formal and informal learning opportunities
Working on and participating in delivering client projects
Experience and other requirements
Student or graduate status in social sciences in public health, epidemiology, psychology, sociology, medical anthropology, health economics or another, life-sciences-related field
Demonstrable analytical, interpretative and problem-solving skills
Interest in consulting within the pharmaceutical and/or healthcare industry
Knowledge of consulting and/or scientific methodologies, tools, and techniques is a plus
Prior experience or avid interest in the healthcare and life science industries
Strong capability in juggling priorities so that deadlines are met while retaining consistently high-quality outcomes
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with others in and across the organization to accomplish team goals
Adaptability and ability to learn quickly and to apply new knowledge
Strong IT literacy e.g., Word, PowerPoint, Excel
Well-developed written and verbal communication skills
Excellent English (written and oral); additional language is an advantage
Right to work in the recruiting country (UK/Netherlands)
Full time availability during at least 3 months, as of September 2023
