What will you do?

The successful candidate will provide a strong supporting function to the Manager, Sustainability. Below are some examples of things you would be working on:

  • Work on exciting and innovative sustainability initiatives, like renewable power generation and net zero planning
  • Prepare submissions for Green Building Certifications, like BOMA, LEED, fitwel, and WELL
  • Assist with data collection for annual energy & water consumption reporting; Energy Star Portfolio Manager, Energy/Water Reporting and Benchmarking (EWRB) in Ontario, Global Real Estate Sustainability Benchmark (GRESB), etc.
  • Prepare meeting minutes & project tracking sheets,
  • Communicate with consultants and other internal departments on sustainability related matters, including; Environmental, Social, Governance (ESG) assessments, audits and other administrative matters;
  • Contribute to Dream’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Report
  • Assist with internal/external green teams
  • Assist as required with ESG compliance and analysis
  • Other sustainability related ad hoc projects.

What type of experience should you have?

In addition to being able to showcase your collaborative mindset and positive attitude, you need to be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program, with a focus on Business Management, Building Science/Engineering, Environmental Studies, or Sustainability.

  • Being diligent and detail oriented when preparing deliverables
  • Being driven to continuously learn from experiences and seek out feedback and development opportunities
  • Working hard and smart to meet demands at key times of pressure
  • A student currently enrolled in Business, Engineering or Sustainability program; experience in renewable energy, ESG reporting, or green building certifications is an asset
  • Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel, is essential
  • Experience with JDE/ Enterprise One is an asset
  • Knowledge of, or experience in, real estate environments
