Position Description Advertised Job Summary The Department of Sport and Entertainment Management (SPTE) invites applications for the position of Clinical Instructor. This is a 12-month professional track position, with duties that consists of the following: teach 12 credit hours of courses (primarily internship/practicum) in both Fall/Spring semesters, and teach 9 to 12 credit hours in Summer Semesters (primarily internship/practicum). Develop and foster relationships with various organizations throughout the entertainment, event, sport, and venue industries to identify and help secure practicum and internship opportunities. Participate in other departmental and college initiatives related to student career success, and provide service that is beneficial to the department, college, and university. Successful candidate must also be student-oriented and possess strong leadership skills conducive to building a premier program in sport and entertainment management.
Required Education and Experience Earned Master’s Degree in Sport/Entertainment Management, or a related field, with industry experience in sport; live entertainment, venue, and/or event business.
Preferred Qualifications Earned Master’s or PhD in Sport/Entertainment Management, or a related field, with industry experience in sport; live entertainment, venue, and/or event business; with two or more years of experience overseeing undergraduate internships.
