The Role
The Investment Performance and Compliance Manager plays a key role in delivering accurate, high quality investment performance reporting and ensuring the fund meets all mandate compliance requirements. You’ll take ownership of detailed data quality checks, oversee outputs from external service providers, and produce clear, reliable reporting that supports confident decision making.
You’ll also build strong working relationships with custodians, auditors, member communications teams, CRM specialists and digital teams. Reporting to the Head of Investment Operations, this role provides vital support across investment regulatory reporting, financial analytics and broader investment reporting needs for the fund.
What you’ll do
- Complete and deliver weekly, monthly and quarterly investment performance reporting and insights, including quality assurance checks to ensure accuracy of the reporting and value-add for decision makers.
- Work closely with all members of the investment team to understand the investment strategies being implemented and ensure the investment performance is being measured consistently with the implementation strategy.
- Monitor ongoing investment performance report from custodian and compare with the investment manager report.
- Present investment performance reporting to internal teams to contribute to quality decision making.
- Assist in the development and updating of performance reporting and insights to meet the needs of members, for publication on the website, in response to member queries and to support team members who engage with members.
- Collect and validate data from various sources, including investment managers, custodians, and market data providers. Ensure data accuracy, completeness, and integrity for effective performance analysis to deliver reliable regulatory reporting of investment data and reporting to external ratings agencies.
- Monitor and review mandate compliance reporting received from the custodian and directly from investment managers, reviewing any breaches and working closely with the Investments team on resolution.
- Lead, develop and mentor a direct report to build capability and drive high performance.
A strategic thinker with an analytical mindset, you will bring the following key skills:
- 5+ years of practical experience in a performance analytics, fund accounting or corporate finance modelling role.
- Experience in the full lifecycle of multi-sector investments, including listed securities as well as unlisted investments in private equity, infrastructure and/or real estate is highly desirable.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including VBA, PowerQuery, PowerPivot.
- High attention to detail and proven ability to deliver quality outcomes.
- Demonstrated operational experience in the delivery of performance analytics.
- Experience in a people leadership role including the development and mentoring of teams, or leading a project team.
- Tertiary qualification in accounting, finance, mathematics, data science, statistics, advanced financial modelling or similar.
- Prior experience in producing reports and insights using PowerBI or similar tools is highly desired.
- Familiarity with machine learning tools, Chat GPT and similar AI tools is highly desired.
- Hands-on experience using investment data platforms like FactSet, Bloomberg, eVestment, etc is desirable.
- Operational experience in mandate compliance.
