The IRFU are inviting applications for the role of IRFU Charitable Trust Finance and Administration Officer .
This role will provide financial and administrative support to the I.R.F.U. Charitable Trust and ensure the efficient operation of the financial and administrative duties within the Charitable Trust’s office. This position will involve performing duties of a sensitive and confidential nature.
The position is being offered on a 4 day per week, permanent (subject to 6 month probation) basis. The role will be based in our Head Office in 10-12 Lansdowne Road, Ballsbridge, Dublin 4.
The closing date for applications is strictly 4pm Wednesday 4th February 2026. Interviews are expected to take place 12th or 13th February.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
To provide financial and administrative support to the I.R.F.U. Charitable Trust and ensure the efficient operation of the financial and administrative duties within the Charitable Trust’s office. This position will involve performing duties of a sensitive and confidential nature.

Fundraisers & Volunteers
Corporate Sponsors, Donators and Friends
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Finance Duties:
Banking
Record, code and post all bank transactions on spreadsheet and post to system.
Make and record all lodgements and maintain back up file.
Post lodgements to Sage System
Liaise with BOI customer service for any queries.
Month end Bank reconciliations for all accounts (currently 6 accounts)
Accounts Payable
Queries should be investigated and resolved with suppliers and internal staff when required.
Record on payments sheet.
Send invoices to the relevant people for approval.
Input invoice to Sage.
Once approved, organise bank transfer payments.
Verify bank details for online payments. Set up new payees online.
Post payments to Sage.
Make sure backup invoices are filed online.
Prepare list of Accruals at month end.
Accounts Receivable
Create all invoices and send out for all events and sponsorships etc.
Record on event sheet and invoices sheet.
Update when amount received.
Month End
Record, code and post all bank transactions on spreadsheet and post to system.
Make and record all lodgements and maintain back up file.
Post lodgements to Sage System.
Liaise with BOI customer service for any queries.
Month end Bank reconciliations for all accounts (currently 6 accounts).
Reports for Meetings
Injured player payments.
Donations.
Information as requested by Finance Committee.
Accounts/budget sheets for various events.
Quarterly Accounts
Prepare Quarterly Accounts for Committee.
Year End
Post all Accruals, prepayments and adjustments.
Make sure income from Programme sales has been invoiced and included in figures.
Make sure we have year end investment figures.
Provide information for gift aid claim to Charitable Trust NI.
Manually prepare accounts for Charitable Trust NI.
Close off Year end on Sage.
Liaise with Sage to switch to new year on system.
Prepare accounts.
Liaise with auditors for both Charitable Trust and Charitable Trust NI. Providing information and answering queries.
Administration & Office Duties:
Friends
Record new Friends and keep Friends Database up to date.
Issue Friends letters, invoices; and assist with newsletter and competition details.
Send Friends Gifts when payment received.
Keep Stock of Friends Gifts.
Produce reports when requested for
Club Friends
School Friends
Individual Friends
General
Send thank you letters for all donations and receipts when requested.
Provide general administration support; as well as assisting with administration of events.
Coordinate with suppliers regarding the stock of office supplies and organise the ordering of any merchandise required.
Support the Head of Operations.
Maintain effective relationships with staff within the Charitable Trust & the IRFU.
Carry out duties and responsibilities as mentioned above to an effective and efficient s tandard, establishing efficient work practices.
Key Qualities:
- Excellence in Excel.
Excellent organisation, communication and teamwork skills.
Attention to detail very important.
An excellent knowledge of MS Office packages in particular Excel and Word.
An accounting qualification with a minimum of 3 years relevant experience.
Proficient in SAGE or similar accounts package.
Accounts payable and receivable experience.
The successful candidate must be eligible to live and work in Ireland.
