Job Purpose

The Sales Associate is enthusiastic and passionate about creativity, people and arts and crafts. The Sales Associate performs all cash register operations and related customer service duties. In addition to providing superior class service to our customers, it’s expected all related job functions are done to the best of his/her ability.

Critical Accountabilities:

· Greeted customers with courtesy and determined their needs and wants

· Recommended merchandise based on individual requirements

· Advised customers on utilization and care of merchandise

· Provided advice to customers regarding particular products or services

· Explained the use and advantage of merchandise to customers

· Answered customers’ queries and concerns

· Display the live working of merchandise

· Prepared invoices and accepted payment through cash, cheque and credit card

· Assisted in display of merchandise

· Maintained sales records for inventory control

Required Skills

· Excellent customer service skills

· Ability to learn: Learning is life-long process and the same applies to this position; A sales associate should learn basic things such as: basic accounting skills and computer command skills.

· Organizational and time management skills: A sales associate should be aware of how to organize things and know how to spend time on work in the most effective and efficient way

· Attentive and spontaneous: A sales associate should be attentive and spontaneous to lead the conversation with the customers and serve them as per their needs.

· Ability to handle work load: Sometimes a sales associate has to work other than normal working hours so he/she should be ready for that and it may include extended hours.

· Physical ability: Sometimes a sales associate has to stand extended period of time and to move boxes of merchandise and fixtures throughout the store so he/she should be physically fit for the work.

Looking for Full Time up to 35 hours a week or part-time position with up to 20 hours a week. The successful applicant must be able to work weekends.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $16.55-$18.00 per hour

Schedule:

• 4 hour shift
• 8 hour shift
• Weekends as needed
