British American Tobacco France has an exciting opportunity for a Junior Legal Counsel in Paris
The main role scope is to provide legal advice and analysis to the organisation, under the supervision of the Head of Legal France, ensuring that the company is empowered to keep acting lawfully given the strict local legislation, to protect the trademarks rights and to manage, in a proactive manner, the regulatory issues.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Secure the full and timely implementation of marketing and commercial programs within regulatory local frameworks
- Contribute to the preservation of BAT reputation by serving as legal advisor of the business units of the Company
- Contributing to the maintenance of the BAT business according to the BAT strategy
- Comply and implement activities in accordance with the rules of laws and regulations relating to environmental protection, safety at work and fire protection, and internal EHS standards and procedures BAT group
What are we looking for?
- University degree in French Law
- Fluency in French required and excellent command of written and spoken English language
- Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in a reputable law firm or it the Legal department of a FMCG company, preferable in the tobacco industry
- Proven very good knowledge of tobacco and consumer legislation or experience in regulatory markets, antitrust legislation, contracts management, corporate law, Intellectual Property legislation and labour law;
- Good ability to translate legal concepts into an easily understandable format and to communicate them clearly, both orally and in writing, with all levels of management
- Experience in dealing with a wide range of corporate and commercial legal issues;
- Ability to manage external lawyers in a range of jurisdictions.
- Good analytical skills and strategic thinking
- User knowledge of computer skills (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills across a variety of stakeholders
- Good commercial judgement;
- Ability to work with tight deadlines
