  • 6 Month (Jan- Jun 2025) Fixed Term Contract (64 hours per fortnight)
  • Located at Taranaki Base Hospital
  • Current full driver’s licence and willingness to travel essential
  • Must have a minimum of a Level 4 Mental Health Qualification

Join our dynamic team as a vital member of the Opioid Substitution Treatment (OST) Group, dedicated to offering tailored care and assistance to individuals grappling with severe opiate addiction in the local community.

This role involves empowering Tangata Whaiora/consumers in accessing community-centric resources, fostering autonomy and recovery; fostering linkages to social and support systems; strategizing wellness & objective setting, self-management, and fortitude enhancement. The objectives of this role encompass:

  • Supporting Tangata Whaiora/consumers and their whanau to identify and achieve their goals and aspirations using a therapeutic and strengths-based approach
  • Supporting the team with ensuring Tangata Whaiora are engaged with their treatment
  • Provide practical administrative support for the prescribing process for OST whai ora as directed through the multi-disciplinary team
  • Supporting the therapeutic activities of the team with practical assistance

We will offer the successful candidate the opportunity to provide:

  • Tailored 1:1 support to whai ora accessing OST treatment, enhance opportunities for engagement, identify goals and provide practical support towards independence.
  • Enhancing community relationships and pathways to best meet the needs of whai ora.
  • Experience working as part of a multi-disciplinary clinical team providing specialist OST treatment

  • To be successful in this role you must have a passion for the addictions field with a priority for improving the quality of lives of people experiencing addictions issues
  • Our ideal candidates will have experience working in the addictions or mental health sector with a broad range of experience supporting individuals and/or whanau accessing addictions or mental health services.
  • Proven ability to engage and develop rapport with whai ora and whanau to achieve mutual goals and priorities.
  • High level of computer literacy and competence
