Āu Mahi | What You Will Do
The Professional and Community Engagement (PACE) Programme is seeking a talented individual who is passionate about engaging industry and community partners in the development of authentic workplace projects for students on intern placements. This role is both externally and internally facing, building awareness of the Programme as well as being responsible for its smooth day-to-day operation. Coordination, administration, and management of the internship placements are also key to the role.
You will work with a range of people and develop strong relationships including WIL Hub and UC Careers team members, wider UC colleagues and partner organisations, in order to better prepare UC students for the world of work. Your exceptional engagement skills will see you promoting and growing awareness of the Programme.
Mōu | Who You Are
As the successful candidate you will demonstrate experience in a coordination, programme or project management role with exceptional organisational, communication and interpersonal skills, including:
- development and management of stakeholder relationships
- the ability to think creatively and flexibly in a changing and dynamic environment to create solid projects meaningful to both students and partners
- exceptional organisational skills, with the ability to set priorities, manage time and plan work to meet deadlines, and escalate when appropriate
- promotional and marketing skills, are preferred
- ability to work independently as well collaboratively as an effective team member, contributing to an environment of respect, transparency, and participation
- excitement about and experience in using and managing database systems on a daily basis, including CRMs
- knowledge of the tertiary education sector and experience mentoring or supporting students, would be an advantage.

You will work within a dynamic Ako ā-Mahi teamwho advocate for successful ākonga | student outcomes, especially preparing students for their future working lives - is at the heart of everything the team does. The WIL Hub has been established to lead the critical strategic approach to work-integrated learning at UC. The Programme is a critical component of the WIL Hub seeking to provide high quality WIL experiences, and equity of access to these experiences for students. The WIL Hub also works closely with UC Careers team.
