Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and the ability to provide a safe, clean, and nurturing environment for pets. As a Kennel Technician, you will be responsible for the daily care of animals in our facility, ensuring their well-being and comfort while also providing excellent customer service to pet owners.

Responsibilities

  • Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, walking, and exercising pets.
  • Maintain cleanliness of kennels and common areas to ensure a hygienic environment.
  • Monitor the health and behavior of animals, reporting any concerns to management or veterinary staff.
  • Assist with pet check-ins, check-outs, and nail trims providing exceptional customer service to pet owners.
  • Handle animals safely and effectively, utilizing proper techniques in animal handling.
  • Support veterinary staff as needed, including assisting with basic medical care or treatments.
  • Perform heavy lifting as required when moving animals or cleaning equipment.
  • Engage in training sessions with dogs as needed, promoting good behavior and socialization.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in animal care or related fields such as pet grooming, pet sitting, or veterinary assistance is preferred.
  • Strong animal handling skills with the ability to work with various breeds and temperaments.
  • Excellent customer service skills to effectively communicate with pet owners and address their needs.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks including heavy lifting and standing for extended periods.
  • Knowledge of dog training techniques is a plus but not required.
  • A genuine love for animals and commitment to their well-being is essential.

Pay: $10.00 - $12.00 per hour
