At Orinda Pet Grooming and Hugs for Harry, we’re more than just a pet care organization – we’re a family dedicated to rescuing and nurturing senior, forgotten, and abused dogs in the Bay Area. Together, we provide a safe haven for our furry friends at Hugs Haven in Orinda, and we’re looking for a compassionate and experienced Kennel Technician to join our small but mighty team.

About the Role

As a Kennel Technician, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring the health, happiness, and well-being of the dogs in our care. This is more than just a job – it’s an opportunity to create a positive impact in the lives of animals who need it most.

What You’ll Be Doing

Your daily responsibilities will include:

• Providing compassionate care for our rescued dogs, including feeding, grooming, and administering medications as needed.
• Maintaining a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for the dogs by cleaning kennels and common areas.
• Monitoring the health and behavior of the dogs, and promptly reporting any concerns.
• Offering kindness, patience, and love to dogs who may be scared or in need of extra attention.
• Assisting with basic maintenance tasks to ensure the facility remains functional and welcoming.

What We’re Looking For

We’re searching for someone who shares our values of kindness and compassion and meets the following qualifications:

• Experience: At least 3 years of experience working with animals, preferably in a kennel, shelter, or similar environment.
• Skills: Strong attention to detail, excellent communication, and the ability to handle dogs of all sizes and temperaments.
• Physical Requirements: Must be comfortable with physically demanding tasks, including lifting and standing for extended periods.
• Personality: A positive attitude, a calm demeanor, and a genuine love for animals.
