Job Overview

The Kitchen Steward plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our kitchen. This position is responsible for maintaining cleanliness, organization, and hygiene standards, supporting kitchen staff with equipment and supplies, and contributing to the overall efficiency of food service operations.

Key Responsibilities

Dishwashing and Cleaning:
- Wash and sanitize dishes, pots, pans, utensils, and kitchen equipment.
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen floors, walls, and surfaces in compliance with health and safety standards.

Waste Management:
- Properly dispose of kitchen waste and recyclables.
- Ensure garbage bins are clean and emptied regularly.

Equipment Maintenance:
- Assist in cleaning and maintaining kitchen appliances, including ovens, grills, and fryers.
- Report any damaged or malfunctioning equipment to the supervisor.

Support to Kitchen Staff:
- Restock kitchen stations with clean utensils and equipment as needed.
- Assist in receiving and organizing kitchen supplies and inventory.

Compliance with Safety Standards:
- Follow all health, hygiene, and safety protocols to maintain a hazard-free environment.
- Adhere to company policies and local regulations regarding food handling and sanitation.

Skills and Qualifications

Prior experience in a kitchen or stewarding role is an asset but not mandatory.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks effectively.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high hygiene standards.
Team player with excellent communication and organizational skills.
Physically fit and able to stand, bend, and lift items during the shift.
