ROLE OVERVIEW:

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Landscaper/Gardener to maintain and enhance outdoor environments across our managed luxury properties. The role involves hands-on horticultural work, grounds maintenance, and landscape improvement to ensure all sites are safe, visually appealing, and maintained to professional standards throughout the year.

This position requires practical experience, physical stamina, and a strong understanding of plant care, landscape systems, and groundskeeping equipment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Grounds Maintenance

• Perform routine lawn care including mowing, edging, strimming, aeration, and turf management
• Maintain planting beds, borders, and green spaces to high aesthetic standards
• Prune trees, shrubs, and hedges using correct horticultural techniques
• Weed control through manual and chemical methods (in line with safety guidelines)
• Apply fertilizers, soil conditioners, and mulch as required

Planting & Landscaping

• Plant flowers, shrubs, trees, and turf according to landscape plans
• Prepare soil, dig beds, and carry out soft landscaping works
• Assist in hard landscaping tasks such as laying turf, installing edging, minor paving, and fencing repairs
• Support seasonal landscape changeovers and enhancement projects

Irrigation & Plant Health

• Monitor plant health and identify pests, diseases, and nutrient deficiencies
• Operate and maintain irrigation systems; report faults or leaks
• Implement basic pest and disease control measures

Equipment & Site Care

• Operate and maintain gardening and landscaping tools (mowers, trimmers, hedge cutters, blowers, etc.)
• Ensure safe use, cleaning, and storage of equipment
• Conduct basic equipment checks and report maintenance needs
• Keep work areas tidy and dispose of green waste appropriately

Health & Safety

• Follow company health & safety policies and risk assessments
• Use personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times when required
• Handle chemicals and fuels in accordance with regulations
• Maintain awareness of public safety when working on active sites

General Duties

• Work independently or as part of a grounds team
• Follow daily work schedules and supervisor instructions
• Provide professional conduct when on client premises
• Assist with other outdoor maintenance tasks when required

REQUIREMENTS:

Essential

• Proven experience in landscaping, gardening, or grounds maintenance
• Good plant knowledge and understanding of seasonal horticultural practices
• Ability to operate landscaping machinery and hand tools safely
• Physically fit and able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Strong work ethic, punctuality, and reliability
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Willing to be relocated to the Caribbean

Desirable

• Formal training in horticulture or landscaping
• Pesticide handling certification (e.g., PA1/PA6 or equivalent)
• Irrigation system knowledge
• Experience in both soft and basic hard landscaping
• Valid driver’s license
