This Leading Hand Traffic Works is located in the Infrastructure Maintenance Branch which is responsible for the maintenance of City utilities, community facilities, open space, electrical and transport infrastructure.
This position is responsible for the installation of our City's road and pavement line marking, road signage and traffic devices as well as auditing signage and line marking as part of the whole of the City Maintenance Program. This role also provides daily supervision to other tradespeople within the team.
About the role

About the role
- installation of signage in compliance with the Austroads manual.
- installation of road and pavement line marking.
- set-up of worksite to comply with Austroads manual.
- successful daily management of allocated tradespersons, delegation of daily work tasks and effective daily workflow management.
- completion of risk assessments and compliance with the city’s Safe Work Methods Statements.
What you bring to your new role
- Be a proactive and passionate supervisor, who has experience in supervising others in a similar type of role.
- Be a self-starter who can effectively prioritise and manage their day-to-day workload.
- Be a good communicator, who has excellent interpersonal skills in a team environment.
- Have a demonstrated ability to form good working relationships with key stakeholders and service providers both internal and external.
- Have excellent time management skills.
- Be prepared and committed to undertake continuing professional development (CPD).
- Hold a Certificate III in Construction (Civil) or have equivalent knowledge.
- Hold an unrestricted MR Driver’s Licence.
- Hold a General Construction Induction White Card.
