About the role

We are looking to appoint a full time Learning Assistant to join our talented team. We welcome applications from outstanding, self-motivated and reflective professionals.

This position will particularly suit someone who loves working with children and, ideally, has experience working in a similar environment. The position is full time during term time.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Teaching and Learning

1. To support the class teacher to ensure lessons are well prepared and assist with the development of support materials

2. To support the learning of groups of pupils as directed by the class or specialist teacher, inside and outside of the classroom to enable them to fully participate in activities

3. To assist in the educational and social development of pupils under the direction and guidance of the Class Teachers

4. To be proactive and consistent in the application of the school’s behaviour management policy

5. To support the individual needs of all pupils including those with additional learning needs

6. To have high expectations and monitor standards of pupils’ work

7. To support the class / specialist teacher with displays of pupils' work

Other Professional Requirements

8. Be proactive relating to health and safety and safeguarding procedures

9. Undertake duties relating to cover in a timely and proactive manner

10. Attend meetings including parents’ evenings or other official school events as required

11. Understand the importance of confidentiality

12. Be willing to undertake training to develop own effectiveness in the role

13. Establish effective communication and professional working relationships with colleagues

14. Set a good example in terms of dress, punctuality, attendance and professional conduct

15. Be proactive in understanding and working with the school’s policies and procedures

16. Undertake any other task as reasonably requested by the Principal

-Ensure effective use of assessment to assess how well learning objectives have been met and how planning can be improved to further enhance learning.

-Mark work and provide constructive & personalized feedback in line with school policy.

-Provide personalized written reports relating to student progress and next learning steps.

Selection Process
