Leasing Consultant Job description

The primary responsibilities of the Leasing Consultant will involve use of marketing and sales techniques to show vacant units and build a strong community within Van Ness Apartments.

Basic responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Greeting all residents, future residents and internal team members in a professional manner
  • Keeping a high level of service in mind with every task while resolving conflict to benefit all concerned parties
  • Morning building walks that ensure tour path is presentable
  • Facilitating all aspects in the apartment leasing process
  • Completion of prospect files in a timely manner, including but not limited to collecting income verification and security deposits
  • Weekly data entry of prospect tour information and applicant tracker
  • Knowledge of daily rate and specials changes
  • Ensuring units are ready for move-in
  • Resident assistance with general needs and requests
  • Checking and responding to voice messages and property email inboxes
  • Daily Craigslist ad posting that adhere to ad specifications as is advised by Manager
  • Respecting the boundaries of confidentiality
  • Compliance with fair housing laws and safety

If necessary, the Leasing Consultant may also be called upon for the following:

  • Execute a successful renewal program and effectively communicate the program to residents
  • Support the Manager in recurring accounting functions and processing of customer service requests (including maintenance work orders).
  • Assist Managers with coordination of day-to-day activities in accordance with the standards established by the Managers.
  • Assist in maintaining office clerical, filing and record keeping systems.
  • Provide support to Front Desk Services when required. Ideal candidates will have:
  • 2+ years apartment leasing experience
  • Proven sales track record, including excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to multi-task with excellent follow through to pending issues
  • Projection of a professional image by following dress code and appearance standards as set forth by the community
  • Basic typing and clerical skills
  • A positive, upbeat attitude
  • Excellent Communication Skills with proven effectiveness for sucess
  • Familiarity with Onesite, AMSI,Yardi, Rent Roll, Yieldstar, MRI, and/or LRO is a plus

Physical Requirements: Extensive mobility required. Must be able to perform the physical functions of the position, which may include, but are not limited to: ability to walk two properties, including 4 flights of stairs, to complete physical inspections, deliver resident communications, and show apartments.

Significant Typing and computer use required. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $91,000.00 - $96,000.00 per year
