What you will be doing.
As our Legal Counsel, you will act as an in-house legal advisor, supporting ABL Group companies to deliver business plans ensuring the legality and careful review of commercial contracts and legal matters, and further advise our company on legal rights and duties. In addition, you will:
- Consult and handle/support corporate legal processes in the North Europe region (contracts, corporate, compliance, transactions/M&A etc).
- Oversee drafting, evaluation, negotiations and execution of contracts ensuring legal and regulatory compliance, and as required manage negotiations with third parties.
- Draft and review legal documents
- Work alongside business units in providing legal advice and services to support the operations, commercial and business development.
- Guide managers and ensure compliance with rules and regulations
- Claims handling
- Other duties as assigned, including support of other regions in the ABL Group as required.
- Dedicated leadership and commitment to QHSE (Quality, Health, Safety, Environment).
What we are looking for.
To thrive in this role, you'll bring your expertise in law, preferably within the maritime, energy and offshore industries, along with a strong working knowledge of international legal frameworks. Your ability to navigate complex legal matters with precision, provide sound advice, and foster collaboration will be essential in supporting the business objectives of ABL Group. In addition, you will:
- Hold a degree in Norwegian Law or a related discipline from a recognised university. A combination of academic qualifications and work experience may be considered in lieu of the minimum requirements.
- Possess knowledge of international law.
- Be an experienced lawyer with demonstrated expertise.
- Have experience in the Marine, Oil & Gas, Energy, and/or Renewables industries or related areas.
- Demonstrate excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills, both orally and in writing.
- Excellent communication skills in English (working language).
- Exhibit strong analytical abilities and keen attention to detail.
- Show the ability to interact effectively at all levels within the organisation, both independently and as part of a team.
- Be proactive, insightful, client-focused and resourceful.
