We’re growing!! And looking for passionate, driven, and energetic candidates to join our team for the position of Legal Lease Administration.
Reporting to the President, this person will have an opportunity to help shape the growth of the company, while also collaborating on our most significant projects to date.
What you’ll be doing:
- Preparation and Review of Lease and Lease-Related Documentation
Prepares, revises, negotiates, where required, and sees through to execution lease agreements working under the supervision of the Manager and, as needed, in collaboration with external contacts such as tenant, tenant representatives, tenant legal counsel, etc., soliciting input, where required, from their Manager and internal/external legal counsel to ensure the lease documentation reflects the leasing intent and lease documentation related risks are minimized
- Documentation Related Services
Reviews and provides feedback for Offers to Lease and Letters of Intent, as required, to ensure consistency of lease documentation and minimization of risks related to the conflict between a leasing intent and wording used in lease documents.
- Lease Due Diligence
May contribute to dispositions and financing due diligence by ensuring that purchasers and/or lenders receive all current lease documents and any lease-related documentation completed during and conditional period to ensure the owners meet the requirements of the disposition/financing process. Assists in the preparation and collection of estoppel certificates.
- Lease Documentation Reporting
Maintains tenant lease document status report for use by Retail Leasing, Retail Lease Administration, and other internal groups.
Any other job-related duties and/or projects that may be assigned.
What you bring to the table:
Skills, Knowledge, Experience, and Education
- Paralegal diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Business or equivalent experience
- Minimum 3 years of practical experience in the retail real estate industry
- Knowledge of a commercial lease
- Knowledge of the retail industry and shopping center environment
- Advanced Word Skills and knowledge of other MS Office applications, adobe acrobat, and other real estate-related software
