Life Skills Coach/Trainer

As a Life Skills Coach, you will help foster youth or young adults who have acute behavioral challenges stemming from trauma. Working as a team and with guidance from a mental health clinician, you will strengthen the youth's interpersonal communication, independent living, and emotional regulation skills. In this role you coach and develop the essential skills that enable the youth to live and thrive in their home, school, and work environments. The starting pay for this full-time, non-exempt position is $23.63 - $24.81 per hour depending on experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work in collaboration with the Clinical team to support the youth's treatment goals.
  • Reinforce the broader residential youth program
  • Provide support to other Youth Homes teams as needed
  • Support Youth in the Community on outings for enrichment activities to practice skill-building

Key Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in behavioral science (psychology, social work, etc.) or enrolled in graduate school for psychology or social work.
  • Experience in residential programs or school-based treatment programs supporting adolescents and children.
  • Experience working with foster youth in related programs is preferred.
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills, patience, and resilience to work with high-acuity youth or young adults.

Other Requirements

  • At least 21 years of age.
  • Must complete criminal background check, health screening and other state/federal licensing/certification requirements.
  • Must have own/reliable transportation, personal auto insurance and a valid driver's license with no restrictions.
